Other Games Roleplay
So you're interested in other games where we roleplay? Great! We cover a lot of different games, and whilst most of our roleplay has been Sims related, we've since expanded to other games. Roleplay is a great way to make friends in games whilst being who you want to be in that moment. Hopefully by reading some of our own roleplay, it will help you decide if roleplaying is your cup of tea.

Rhia (GTAV)
Some would call me a junkie. A junkie for tears. Ugh. Well, fuck ya'll. I didn't get arrested for doin' no drugs (or for beating up my boyfriend-to all you jealous B's out there!). My deal is icin' cops, and chilling with my pimps and homies. Do I occasionally murder silly little housewives and steal their clothing? Who wouldn't? Am I much cooler than you? Duh. Do I get the HOTTEST strippers? Of course, bitches. [Official GTAV Site] |

What is Roleplaying?Basically put; roleplaying is where you pretend to be the character that you're currently playing in a game. People often do this to escape reality in some way or to further enhance their gaming experience.
So why isn't it terribly popular? Mainly, I think, this is because many people seriously over-think (and therefore over-complicate) their roleplay by spending their whole time spouting their (often novel-sized) created character backstory. Whilst this is a good form of roleplay for some, it can make the whole roleplay scene feel a little like story time with Grandma. These walls of text can seriously put others off who may not fully understand what roleplay is. In reality, role play can be made a whole lot simpler than having to write an entire novel before getting into it. So how do we simplify roleplay (either to make it fun or because we're lazy)? Well all you really need to decide is what basic temperament you'll be acting with your character. So will you be hot headed and quick to anger? Or really socially awkward? At the end of the day it's up to you and honestly, that's all you'll really need to do. Whenever you communicate in game whilst playing that particular character, act up that basic temperament and the roleplay will fall into place! Backstories are more or less an optional thing and will often occur to you after time playing your character. This method of roleplay can often be a whole lot more fun because instead of you telling others everything about your character (and thus eliminating any real need for them to roleplay with you again) if they are interested, they can ask and discover through playing together! Wait is that really roleplaying? Yes! It may seem like less effort and, well... that's because it is. Roleplay is just a fancy name for play-acting and you really do not need to have a degree in English Literature in order to have fun with it. You can even go as far to say that some people are roleplayers without realising, as a lot of people don't always behave in games exactly as they would in real life - making them closet roleplayers! What if someone thinks my roleplay is my actual personality? Well in my own honest opinion, I believe that is a sign of being exceptionally good at your roleplay. Aside from this, if this is actually a real problem then you can always break the roleplay temporarily to inform said person that it is literally just acting. If they still don't believe you then congratulations! You have successfully identified an idiot and your roleplay (and subsequent gaming) experience will be a whole lot better and more fun without them! |
