Lana was a little wary since she'd heard about insecure men who took their mothers on dates with them but didn't realise she'd ever meet one! However after talking to him for a bit, Lana realised she'd been a little off in her assumptions. Leighton felt like he should be honest - his mother was old and getting a little Insane so she needed his care until she could get back on her feet financially. Sam, his son, was a result of an alien abduction according to Leighton. Lana wasn't entirely sure if she believed this though - Sam didn't exactly look alien to her!
She did feel a bit sorry for them all though, and she did really like Leighton. They had lots in common - they were both ambitious and family orientated and they even shared some of their interests! Lana was sure that even though he seemed a little insecure (aliens? really!?) he would be good enough for her.. Plus little Sam would be perfect for her to mentor. Even if it didn't go anywhere, Leighton would at least make a good friend.
The date was going really well - Leighton told her all about his work as a Toddler Sports Coach (which wasn't all that interesting to Lana but she listened politely anyway) but then he started talking about more interesting things - Leighton, Lana discovered, was frugal and loved to crunch numbers to find a bargain. She could work with that! She was very surprised when Leighton asked her to be his girlfriend on the first date, but she accepted anyway... Who could blame her!? Leighton truly is an attractive sim.
Lana found herself wishing she could marry Leighton, but she held herself in check - she certainly doesn't want a reputation as a bunny boiler! She settled for surprising him with a bunch of flowers. She was rather taken aback at how surprised he got though... Leighton was so surprised he had to take an emergency dash to the toilet so as not to wet himself in front of her! Definitely an insecure guy, thought Lana, but an extremely good-looking and sweet insecure guy.
Lana decided to get to know Sam while Leighton had gone to the toilet. As Leighton's girlfriend, she felt she should at least make sure that Sam was comfortable with her! She was almost worried that she was scaring him to begin with, but then he started laughing and it became clear that this little guy was just shy. Like father, like son, maybe?
When Leighton got back, Lana thanked him for a wonderful time but told him she should be off - she has to get up early for work tomorrow. She was secretly pleased when Leighton asked if she wanted to go on another date after work the next day though.
