Their meal together was not very long, but enjoyable. The last time they'd truly spent time together before this was on their honeymoon so it was long overdue. They had a good chat and rekindled some of their relationship before bed. It was a nice new life, but life on a farm was so different to what they had been used to and it was certainly not easy getting up so early every day!
The next morning, Leighton was proud to see that some of the chickens had had some little chicks! He hadn't harvested eggs in a few days so that they could give a few chickens to Yumi - the egg supply had come in very handy for them! The farmwork was pretty easy now they'd bought a tractor and Leighton managed to finish all the farm duties before 6am! Despite all this, Leighton was very stressed - lots of appliances had broken which needed fixing and they were due to be getting some more animals later that day. He was worried he didn't have enough time for it all.
Leighton was further irritated when he saw that the laundry needed doing AND the dishes. It had just gone 9 and he noticed Sam on his way to the bus. Leighton thought Sam looked a little too happy to be just going to school and assumed he must be truanting. In a fit of rage and frustration, he slapped him! Sam looked terrified and ran off to the bus. Leighton felt a little guilty for overreacting but still - he had a lot of stress!
Lana had spent the day with the toddlers. Snow had mastered talking by lunchtime and by the time Sam was back from school was halfway towards learning to walk. Lana noticed Sam looked a little more upset than usual but decided it was probably due to his difficult homework.
Sam was fine, just a little shaken. His father had never behaved like that before so he figured he must be upset about something. Sam was determined to do whatever he could to make his parents happy and to help out. He started by doing his homework all on his own - it took a little longer than usual but he managed it in the end - all on his own! He then decided to empty the potties and recycle the newspapers to further help out.

Blue had spent pretty much his entire day playing on the xylophone. Lana's happy that there's finally something other than that creepy doll that Blue will actively seek out to play with. Hopefully it means Peaches is less of an influence on him. She managed to finish teaching Snow to talk by the time it was dinner time. Snow certainly seemed as though she'd age to be a genius!
After dinner, Sam volunteered to do the washing up. He then went around the house making all the beds. Sam is a perfectionist so it took him longer than most Sims to do but the beds were entirely crease-less. Lana decided to ask Sam what was behind his sudden house-elfish behaviour. Sam told her about what had happened that morning and that he wanted to be helpful. Lana let him off the hook immediately and told him that he didn't need to do everything - he can play whenever he likes as long as he does some chores occasionally. Lana decided she should speak to Leighton, who was seemingly oblivious to Sam's exemplary behaviour.
Leighton was star gazing on the balcony when Lana marched up to tell him off. He knew Lana was right but he felt a little annoyed that she was treating him like a child. Leighton went and apologised to Sam and gave him a friendly hug before doing the laundry. He stood in the laundry room feeling sorry for himself and stressed about the amount of work he did everyday. It seemed to him like the move had been good for everyone except him.
The next day was a bank holiday for Spring. Lana decided to go and write a few novels in the study while Blue and Snow played together in the nursery at the block table. Leighton seemed to have got over his bad mood from the day before and was busy completing the farm duties.
Sam decided that he would celebrate the new season with a new outfit. He decided to dress as a knight style since he'd seen a documentary on Dragon Valley on the television which he'd found very cool! He wanted to pretend he lived there. Sam was further excited and pleased when Leighton revealed their new pet was a little puppy! Sam was over the moon that his wish for a puppy had been granted! It was a little girl puppy that Sam decided to call Maya. He asked Leighton where he'd got her and was stunned when Leighton told him that Maya was one of Yumi's dogs puppies!
Maya is a very happy puppy and is absolutely tiny. She is a little frightened of the television when it's first turned on, but soon settles down and even starts watching it with Sam.
Unfortunately it soon becomes clear that Sam is not very well and feeling germy. Lana put him to bed where he spent the rest of his day - despite the glorious sunshine outside! It's really not Sam's week! Lana received a telephone call from her publisher saying that her new book "Aim for the Moon" was a massive hit! They want her to fly out to France to do a promotion for her book for a week. Excitedly, she went to ask Leighton if it would be okay for him to watch the children whilst she took this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Unfortunately, Leighton was so angry he slapped her! Lana was shocked! First Sam, now her!
This mid-life crisis looks set to shake the family to the core. Full Moon is less than three days away and things are getting rocky....
