Create-A-Style (also shortened to CASt since typing it out can be a pain for lazy people like me) is the most amazing feature to have been in a Sims game to date - well in my own opinion at least. This is, basically put, the customization tool for the Sims 3. Yes, yes I know customization is good - but the sheer amount of customization that this tool allows for is absolutely god-like.
So why is it godlike? Well ignoring the fact that pretty much everything in the game is CASt-able, from sim clothes and furniture to wallpapers and flooring, this tool contains many different textures and patterns to use to decorate and customize whatever you'd like. If a pattern is perfect but a little off colour for your liking? No problem! Just change the colours using the colour wheel! But it doesn't stop with a colour wheel.... If you're more of a perfectionist type and want the perfect colours? Well you can type in the hex of the colour you want to have - or even the RGB numbers if you're feeling brave/smart.
It's immensely easy to use too - each box on the interface will represent a different part of whatever it is you're editing - click the one you want to change and, well... change it (would have thought that bit would be obvious... heheh)
I know that was pretty brief in the description but you know... I'm getting carried away playing with CASt...
So as you can see, you can decorate things to look just right. I personally use this tool all the time - to customize my Sim's clothes, personalise their bedrooms and just generally being a bit of an obsessive perfectionist.. But hey this tool allows for that!
Well if you aren't playing around with CASt by now then either my guide has put you to sleep or you're waiting for some more information... Well I suppose I could tell you that there are actually hex-codes for the sim favourite colours that when used in decor allegedly boost the moods of those sims whose favourite colour it is... Now run and scour the internet for those so I can get back to CASt-ing.....
